Poetry Reading with Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz + Guests

Sadie Dupuis, lead vocalist of Speedy Ortiz, is coming to Cincinnati to read from her recent book of poems, Mouthguard! Joining her will be Cincinnati poet, sculptor and musician Harris Wheeler + music by Mike Montgomery (R.Ring, Ampline) and Nevernew.

Sadie Dupuis is the guitarist, vocalist & songwriter of rock band Speedy Ortiz. She’s also the producer & multi-instrumentalist behind pop project Sad13. Sadie heads the record label Wax Nine, has written for outlets including Spin, Nylon, and Playboy, and holds an MFA in poetry from UMass Amherst. Harris Wheeler is a poet and sculptor studying Creative Writing at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Their work explores the intersection of sculpture, language, and the body.

Mike Montgomery is a songwriter and recording engineer based in Cincinnati, OH. He is a member of the bands, R.Ring, Ampline and MikeVallely (& the New Arms). He owns and operates Candyland Recording Studio in Dayton, KY where he is fortunate to helm productions for some of the nicest and most talented people he could ever hope to meet.

NEVERNEW is a Cincinnati based punk/indie rock band consisting of Matt Hart (formerly of Lookout Records! band Squirtgun) on guitar and vocals, Eric Appleby on bass, and Pete Janidlo on drums. They make high energy racket + noise. They love IPAs, hard cider, books and nonsense. Their latest album Murmuroar was recorded at Candyland in Dayton, KY by Mike Montgomery: www.nevernew.net.
